Original Abstract Expressionism Painting
by Elis Cooke
"If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing."
The Musing series are my daily paintings. I start my day in the studio with an open mind, working intuitively with what arrives, somewhat like working in an art journal. This series is a daily reflection of current practices, processes and explorations. It includes studies in form, composition and colour, experiments, sketches and detours from the main path.
The Musing group focuses on pure abstract/ non objective studies in form, composition and colour.
Size: 16x20 inches on 18x22inch paper. Unmatted. Unframed.
Support: Strathmore 140lb. watercolour paper
Media: Mixed watermedia painting
The best advice I've come across about creating is "To create what you want to look at..." I love to look at work that is ambiguous and suggestive; work that leaves room for the imagination of the viewer. Thus, I aspire to create a spirited body of work I define as "otherly". My art is ever evolving based upon recent experiments, research, discoveries and inspirations.
Thank you for taking the time to look!
