Wabi-sabi (侘寂?) represents Japanese aesthetics...centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete". -- Wikipedia

The journal cover is made with heavy cover stock or watercolor paper. It has a flexible spine so that it opens flat for ease of writing or sketching. An elastic keeps it closed when it's not in use or for travelling. The elastic holds the pages in place and can also be used as a bookmark.

The interior pages are collections of a variety of papers which may include rice, bond, cartridge, and sketch paper. These pages have been stained, monoprinted and/or hand-painted with acrylic, watercolour or ink as part of the exploration and processes of creating art. Each page is one of a kind, perfectly imperfect...

The jotter can be refilled with inserts which can be easily added to the cover by slipping the used pages out and sliding the new pages in. Or it can be used as a traveller type insert in the 6x5 junk journals or the 7x5 journals.
